Who better to represent our campus and especially Adult Education than Dr. Lorraine Morales?
Lorraine Morales, Ed.D., is a student-centered leader with over a decade of wide-ranging administrative experience whose education journey was sparked when she obtained a high school equivalency.
“Dr. Morales’ career at Pima has been marked by a deep commitment to students,” Chancellor Lee D. Lambert said. “That dedication, as well as a recognized ability to lead and collaborate in a variety of settings, will make her an important member of the College’s leadership team.”
Dr. Morales’ education journey personifies dedication and the transformative power of learning. After receiving her GED, Dr. Morales earned a bachelor of science degree in Human Services from Western New Mexico University, a master’s degree in Higher Education/Student Development from The University of Arizona and a Doctorate in Education, Educational Leadership, from Northern Arizona University.
Dr. Morales is keenly aware of the power that educational achievement can have on families, as her own story has helped inspire her loved ones to greater accomplishment. “My going to school has changed the conversation for everyone from ‘Are you going to college?’ to ‘Where are you going to college?’ ” she has said.
Her other community affiliations include United Way’s Women Leading United, First Things First, Child and Family Resources and Marana Health Center. She is a member of the Workforce Investment Board Planning Committee, the Latina Institute Advisory Board and the La Mujer Conference Committee.
